It can be said that OXXO began in the 70s in Monterrey, Nuevo León, where the first flagship store that the brand opened is also located. It is important to point out that one year after the business was founded, in 1978, there were already more than 270 stores throughout the country.
The firm has had tremendous growth since then. Since one of our main objectives is to provide our customers with essentials and additional things for their daily routine, over the years we have become an integral component in the lives of an increasing number of people. Before becoming part of FEMSA, the store chain was managed separately from the Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma brewery.
Despite being a fairly small chain, OXXO is currently the fastest growing chain in Latin America right now.
